How to keep momentum on projects

Earlier this week, we had a video conference with our dear friend and keynote speaker, Tiffany Han, who whipped up so much good energy for us, that by the time we hung up we had half a dozen big new ideas and the feeling that we could take over the world. Yep, she's that good.

Between work and family and friends and home, it's easy to rely on email and texts for much of our communication, but our chat this week reminded me how important it is to connect face-to-face, whether that means you're in a local coffee shop or on Skype. It's like when you leave a conference inspired and ready to take on the world, only to fall back into regular life afterward--you NEED that regular dose of energy from the people who are part of your tribe!

So we're forgoing the usual roundup post of our Instagram tips this week to bring you our list of ways to keep your momentum going on projects, with the help of your network:

  • Schedule a video chat at least once every other week. If you're working on a big project with a partner, like we are, it might be the same person each week with some special guests in between. If you're flying solo, mix it up!
  • Go to local events. Even if you live in the woods and it's really hard to get into the city during the week (can you tell I'm speaking from personal experience?), DO IT. There's just something about those real life hugs and the stories that spill out over steaming cups of coffee or chilled glasses of champagne that makes incredible returns on your energy bank.
  • Come from a place of value. For example, we know Tiffany's time is valuable--people PAY to talk the woman! But, without hesitation, she gave us all of these great ideas for making The Hello Sessions even more spectacular. And you know we'll repay the favor when the time comes! It's easy to get together and vent about what's going wrong, but it's way more fun to get together and think about how to rock each other's worlds.

We hope you have an incredible long weekend, and we can't wait to talk to you again next week when we'll be bringing you our secrets to finding balance in the crazy--and a special surprise!

P.S. When you buy a ticket to The Hello Sessions, you get to reserve your spot in the workshops you're interested in, and they're filling up FAST. So if you want to hang out with Lisa Congdon, Molly Yeh, Brittany Jepsen, or any of our other incredible speakers, make sure you get your tickets soon!
